Reopen Closed Tab Shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+T / ⌘⇧T)
Reopen the tab you just closed: ⌘⇧T on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+T on Windows. Repeat to keep going back.
| Action | Mac | Windows | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reopen last closed tab | ⌘⇧T | Ctrl+Shift+T | |
| Reopen closed window | ⌘⇧T (repeat) | Ctrl+Shift+T (repeat) | |
| Open recent tabs menu (Chrome) | (History menu) | Ctrl+H | |
| New tab | ⌘T | Ctrl+T | |
| Close current tab | ⌘W | Ctrl+W |
Undo a closed tab
⌘⇧T (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+T (Windows) reopens the tab you most recently closed, restored to the same page and scroll position. Press it again to reopen the one before that, walking back through your recently-closed history.
Whole windows too
The same shortcut restores a closed window once you've run out of closed tabs — handy after an accidental ⌘⇧W / Alt+F4. It works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
